Fireworks

Yesterday I spoke to her.

I wasn’t even going to at first; I was too afraid, I wasn’t confident enough, I felt very inadequate but I sat down next to her anyway and tried to understand as much of the conversation as I could.

She is so kind, I thought. Always asking more questions, trying to learn more about you and keep the conversation going.

Then she turned to me and asked me what I wanted to be when I was older.

A missionary, I told her.

Me too! She said with this shocking amount of excitement.

She went on to tell me everything she knew about being a missionary, asking questions and telling stories with so much excitement and passion, it was like there were fireworks going off inside of her.

And all I could think about was how beautiful she was as she talked about her passion and how I hoped to have that kind of spark when I talk about the things that I love.
