This story has nothing to do with beauty but it is beautiful itself (in my eyes) which is why I’m going to share it on here!
So two days ago I was running the youth program at our church. We got there, got everything set up and then when all the kids arrived we went out back to play a game (one of my favourites I might add).
I’ve left my purse in the church with the door open thousands of times before and nothing has ever happened. Today however was different, today someone walked by the church and saw my purse and today that person decided to take the chance.
I guess what happened was the person walked by, saw my purse, noticed that everyone was outside and took advantage of that as they looked through my purse, took my wallet and then ran off.
When we all came back inside the church, I noticed that a couple of the pockets were opened on my purse but came to the conclusion that I had just forgot to close them.
It wasn’t until I got home later that night that I realised my wallet was missing.
I was upset. I wasn’t mad at the situation, it happened, there was nothing I could do about it. I was annoyed though because all of my documents were in there; my drivers licence, health card, debit card, everything was in there and I had no way of recovering it other than waiting on hold for hours because PC Financial never answers the phone and because I couldn’t call Service Ontario to see if I even qualified to have my documents replaced over the phone (because I am out of the country) until Monday!
I was annoyed but made the conscious decision the God was still good even in annoying circumstances.
Flash forward to Sunday evening, I was playing piano for the worship part of the church service when a tall, rough looking guy in a yellow and blue Hawaiian t-shirt comes up to the door and waves me over. Unable to get up, I called over our family friend, Segundo and asked him to talk for the guy for me. After I was finished worship I joined them outside.
Segundo had something in his hand and when he showed me what it was I was shocked. It was my drivers license.
I looked at the man in the yellow and blue Hawaiian t-shirt and he held the rest of the documents I had lost when my wallet was stolen. I was so happy, I thought those things were gone forever!
He was probably the guy who stole it in the first place, he probably had a big plan in the beginning to bring my stuff back so he could get more money out of me but I didn’t care, my stuff was back!
God is still good in the rough circumstances and once again he showed me how beautiful he is and how beautiful his plans are.
